The National Inventory dates the Church of Ireland building to about 1720, with documented rebuildings in 1784 and around 1825. There may be remains of earlier medieval buildings in its fabric.
The oval churchyard has gravestones from the late seventeenth century onwards. The architectural survey also records early medieval cross-slabs and fragments of older stonework.
Its bellcote, cut-stone details and entrance piers show how successive generations altered and cared for the church. A nearby rectory of about 1825 adds to the historic group.
This is a place of worship and remembrance, not an open-air playground. Check access arrangements, do not lean on fragile monuments and respect services and graves.
