How MyLongford handles site visits, listings and correspondence.

Who is responsible for the site?

MyLongford.com is operated by SpittigDigital, the website's data controller for the processing described here. For enquiries and data protection requests, email contact@mylongford.com.

What information is used and why?

The guide displays information about places, events, organisations and local businesses from public sources or information provided to the operator. Some business contact details may identify a sole trader or other individual. We use this information to maintain a useful and accurate local guide, relying where appropriate on the legitimate interests of the operator and readers, balanced against individuals' rights.

When you email us with a correction, request or enquiry, we use your address and the details you send to respond and maintain a record of necessary corrections. Some processing may be needed to meet legal obligations, including data protection requests.

Hosting, retention and recipients

Our hosting service may process technical access logs, including IP addresses and connection information, for operation and security. The operator's verified hosting-log retention information is: 8 weeks.

Correction and enquiry correspondence is retained according to the following policy: overwatch. Public directory details are retained while relevant and appropriate to the guide, subject to regular review and valid correction or erasure requests.

Technical hosting services support this site. Selected photographs are served from Wikimedia servers. The interactive map, when opened, requests tiles from OpenStreetMap; map scripts are also supplied by an external CDN. Opening source or booking links takes you to third-party websites with their own policies. Do not assume those providers handle data in the same way as MyLongford.

Cookies, preferences and analytics

The private editor uses a strictly necessary session cookie (mylongford_admin) for login and form protection. We also use your browser's local storage (mylongford_cookie_choice_v1) to remember whether you agreed to or rejected optional analytics for up to 180 days. These choices are stored on your device and are not sent to Google.

If you choose Accept analytics, we load Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to measure visits, pages viewed, approximate geography, and browser/device information. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits and sessions. Their expiry has been configured to up to 90 days, subject to browser restrictions. We disable Google advertising signals and advertising personalisation in the site code.

Our basis for optional analytics storage and associated tracking is your consent. Until you opt in, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics information is sent by this integration. You can refuse or withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. On withdrawal we stop loading the analytics tag on subsequent pages and attempt to delete the first-party Google Analytics cookies from this site.

Google processes the analytics information and may process it in other countries. Its privacy information is available at Google Privacy Policy. The owner should review the Google Analytics property's separate data-retention and data-sharing settings, which are controlled in Google Analytics and not by this website's cookie preferences.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction or erasure of personal data, object to processing, or request restriction. Send requests to contact@mylongford.com. You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
